Planting day at Sawmill Landing Park in Moss Point
This Saturday you are invited to join the Rotary Club of Moss Point and the City of Moss Point as they begin the process of establishing the city’s newest park.
Volunteers will be working to complete the development of the Sawmill Landing Park by planting trees across what’s designed to be a nature-based green space.
Participants will learn about the physical element of the park as well as gain first-hand experience about the proper way to plant trees.
The park will celebrate the natural and cultural history of Moss Point as an important early Gulf Coast…

Fourteen athletes represent the Gulf Coast in 2024 Bernard Blackwell North/South All-Star game
SUMMARY: The 2024 Bernard Blackwell North/South All-Star game took place at Milner Stadium in Gulfport, featuring 28 top players from Mississippi, including 14 from the Gulf Coast. The South team kicked off with a blocked field goal that Gautier’s Fred Nicholson recovered, leading to a touchdown by Kendetryon Backstorm. The North team answered back, with Kohl Bradley making key defensive plays. Despite the South’s efforts, the North team clinched victory 14-13, marking their first win in five years. Post-game, players, including Silas Corder and Fred Nicholson, expressed pride in their achievements and representing their region.

Civil rights icon James Meredith is honored in his Mississippi hometown

Santa Claus officially cleared for travel
