Pine Belt home-school football team ready to start season

SUMMARY: Football season is just around the corner, and the Pine Belt Spartans, a new homeschool football team, will take the field for the first time ever. Coach Sam Arnette aims to give homeschool students an opportunity to play football beyond youth leagues. The team, formed by a group of like-minded parents, now has about 20 players from 7th to 12th grade, and will compete in eight-man tackle football. Some players are coming from as far as Mobile and Mono, Mississippi. The Spartans start their inaugural season on August 23rd in Hattiesburg, kicking off their journey in a five-team conference.

The Pine Belt Spartans will kick off its first year in the fall.
