Pierce Street Elementary hosts ‘Dancing with the King’
SUMMARY: Principal Anthony Golding of Tupelo‘s Pierce Street Elementary has embraced ballroom dance, expanding lessons to fourth and fifth graders. Inspired by their enthusiasm, he participated as a celebrity dancer in the “Dancing with the King” event, training for weeks with pro-instructor Tammy Wilson. Golding selected “C’mon Everybody” from “Viva Las Vegas” to challenge himself and promote dance education. He believes ballroom dancing fosters teamwork and helps students find their passions. The program has successfully introduced dance lessons to six schools in Lee County and Tupelo, encouraging other institutions to participate for student development.
