SUMMARY: The 46th annual Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival will take place in downtown Ocean Springs, Mississippi on November 2-3, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival celebrates the legacy of potter Peter Anderson and features live music, over 400 artists showcasing their work, and a variety of children’s activities. Approximately 150,000 visitors are expected to attend, with artists engaging in live demonstrations. Additionally, a hands-on marine education area will be available and a children’s art market for ages 8 to 18 will showcase young entrepreneurs’ unique creations. 2 arrested, including UMMC officer, after fatal shooting in Jackson

SUMMARY: Two men, Michael McLeod, 22, a former police officer, and his brother Marquavius McLeod, 21, were arrested following a shooting in downtown Jackson on March 22 that left one dead and seven injured. The shooting occurred near Pearl and Lamar Streets during the Hal’s St. Paddy’s Day Parade. Cortez George, 21, was killed, and the injured individuals were treated at a hospital. The McLeod brothers face charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault. Michael McLeod, who was terminated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center Police, was not on duty during the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
