Petal first responders honor 9/11 memories
SUMMARY: Petal area police officers and firefighters held a special Memorial today to honor the heroes of 9/11 while raising funds for First Responders in need. The annual Memorial stair climb at Petal Panther football stadium saw dozens of residents participating, each climbing the equivalent of 115 flights of stairs to commemorate those who attempted to save lives during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The event not only paid tribute but also aimed to raise around $5,000 for local charity Local Legends, to assist First Responders like firefighter Kaylee Randolph, who faced significant medical expenses after an accident.
