People purchasing Powerball tickets as jackpot continues to grow
The Powerball jackpot has grown to an estimated $1.5 billion after no one won Wednesday.
Retail outlets are seeing an increase in foot traffic as wanna-be jackpot winners buy tickets in hopes of hitting it big on Saturday.
As more and more people buy into Powerball fever, the jackpot will continue to grow and that means the cash registers at these stores will continue to ring up sales.

Mega Millions to Get MEGA Enhancements Starting April 2025
SUMMARY: Starting April 5, Mega Millions will introduce major changes, including $50 million starting jackpots, faster-growing jackpots, and automatic multipliers boosting non-jackpot prizes up to $10 million. Every win will be worth at least twice the price of a play, and there will be no breakeven prizes. The first drawing of the revamped game will occur on April 8, with each play costing $5. This marks only the second price adjustment in the game’s history. The changes aim to create more winning moments and generate additional lottery proceeds for Mississippi. Mega Millions is available in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Mississippi’s Izzy Karns crowned Miss Teen Volunteer America 2026
SUMMARY: Izzy Karns, representing Mississippi, was crowned Miss Teen Volunteer America 2026 on March 8 in Jackson, Tennessee, making her Mississippi’s first-ever teen national titleholder. Karns, an 18-year-old University of Southern Mississippi freshman, impressed judges with her fitness, wellness, and vocal talent. As Miss Teen Volunteer America, she will serve as a spokesperson for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and The Salvation Army, earning a $10,000 scholarship. Karns is also a leader and advocate, founding Choose Rescue and raising over $21,000 for animal shelters. She has contributed over 1,000 hours of community service and supported several charitable organizations.
