SUMMARY: Today‘s weather began with sunshine but turned rainy around 3 PM. A time lapse showed clouds forming by noon, heavy rain in the afternoon, and returning sunshine with temperatures dropping to 83°F. Some areas, like William Carey University, saw lingering clouds, with a few showers in Wayne and Greene Counties. Light rain persisted south of Highway 98 but dissipated quickly. Rain cooled temperatures to the low 80s, but areas without rain remained in the mid-90s. Evening temps will fall into the 70s. Tomorrow brings hot, humid weather (96°F) with some afternoon showers. Weekend highs will be around 96°F to 97°F, with increasing rain chances next week, cooling temps to 93°F by Friday.

JPD investigates fatal shooting on Booker Street
