Oxford Police Department is getting a new headquarters
SUMMARY: The Oxford Police Department is set to move into a new headquarters on Industrial Park Road, off Highway 7 South, due to outgrowing its current location. Demolition of tornado-ruined strip mall is underway in Amory

1 person in custody for Booneville fatal stabbing
SUMMARY: A man is dead, and a woman is in custody following a stabbing incident in Boonville. Detectives are investigating the city’s second murder of the year, which occurred Tuesday morning on South Lake Street. The victim, whose identity is pending release, was stabbed in the chest; he is not a local resident. The woman in custody also hails from outside the county and has not been charged yet, although charges may be forthcoming. Chief Michael Ry noted that such violent crimes are rare in Boonville, a usually peaceful town.
