Over 15,000 absentee ballots requested for Mississippi’s general election
SUMMARY: Approximately 15,000 absentee ballots have been requested for the upcoming general election in Mississippi, with around 9,300 already returned. The number of requested ballots reflects the number of voters who requested them through their local circuit clerk’s office, while the received total shows the number of completed ballots that have been returned. There are still around 6,500 requested ballots that have not been returned. The secretary of state’s office reminds residents that county circuit clerks are processing requests, which may cause a difference in the requested and sent numbers. Absentee ballots must be postmarked by November 7th to count. Residents can use the My Election Day resource for personalized election information.
