Outdoor Stewardship Trust Fund Manager highlights key projects from historic investment
SUMMARY: The Mississippi Outdoor Stewardship Trust Fund has secured $9.8 million for 21 projects aimed at improving the state’s outdoor amenities. The grants will be used to enhance state parks, trails, access to public waters and lands, and preserve wildlife and fish resources. One of the key projects is the improvement of the Fannye Cook Nature Preserve in Jackson, with a $2.6 million investment. Another important project is the $1 million Mississippi Delta Enhancements Project, managed by Ducks Unlimited, which will renovate waterfowl areas and improve infrastructure. In total, more than 79,000 jobs will be created and the projects will boost the state’s outdoor recreation economy.
