SUMMARY: Having a green thumb isn’t necessary for successful herb gardening. Herbs are relatively easy to maintain and can be grown both indoors and outdoors. They require plenty of sunlight and regular watering, but overwatering should be avoided to prevent root rot. Outdoor gardens can benefit from mulch to improve soil structure and retain moisture. Beginner-friendly herbs include basil, cilantro, and rosemary. Mints are aggressive growers and need extra space. Once herbs reach 6-8 inches tall, harvesting and pruning can begin. This encourages new growth and ensures the best flavor, but avoid cutting them down completely unless you’re finished with the plant.

Herb gardens are easier to keep up with and can be planted inside or outside.

Crash knocked out power for some in central Tupelo

SUMMARY: A log truck accident in Tupelo, at the intersection of Blair Street and Ranking Boulevard, has left some Tupelo Water and Light customers without power. The truck, unable to navigate a turn, crashed into a utility pole, causing it to lean precariously. Crews are currently working to replace the pole and repair the damage. Residents reported hearing an explosion at the time of the incident. Fortunately, only a few homes are affected by the power outage. Repairs may take 3 to 4 hours, and this intersection has a history of similar accidents. More updates will be provided later today.
