OSHA issues 17 citations in ‘preventable death’ of 16-year-old at Mar-Jac Poultry plant

SUMMARY: A federal investigation revealed that a Hattiesburg poultry processing plant is directly responsible for the of a 16-year-old worker. The Occupational Safety and Administration (OSHA) cited the company for 14 serious violations and proposed over $200,000 in fines. The 16-year-old worker, Duvan Perez, was the second person to die at the plant in a two-year period.
