One week later: Where the manhunt for the Kentucky I-75 shooting suspect stands
SUMMARY: A week after five people were shot on I-75 near London, Kentucky, authorities are still searching for the suspect, Joseph Couch. The shooting occurred at exit 49, which has since reopened. Law enforcement relocated their command center deeper into the Daniel Boone National Forest, where they suspect Couch may still be hiding. The area’s dense vegetation and tricky terrain, including sinkholes and caves, are complicating the search. Officials emphasize the importance of thoroughly checking the area to find evidence or the suspect. A $35,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Couch’s capture.

Kentucky manhunt: Personnel 'reallocated' outside forest as search for I-75 shooting suspect continu
SUMMARY: In Laurel County, a manhunt for suspect Joseph Couch continues 11 days after his alleged shooting spree on I-75. Governor Andy Beshear emphasized that the state will not succumb to fear, stating that the priority is community safety. Over 28,000 acres in the Daniel Boone National Forest have been searched, but with limited results, law enforcement is shifting strategies. They will redirect resources from the forest to local communities, increasing patrols to create a stronger public safety presence. Officials have pursued every tip but have yet to locate Couch, who is still at large.
As 10 days have passed since the shooting on I-75 in Laurel County, state and area leaders held a briefing Tuesday afternoon regarding the ongoing manhunt for the suspect.
