SUMMARY: The ‘s golf team has achieved a historic milestone by being ranked No. 1 nationally for the first time. Their stemmed from an impressive fall season, winning their last two tournaments, a commanding 20-stroke victory at the Empire at the Hamptons Intercollegiate. Junior Michael La Sasso shone with his first individual win, finishing 11 strokes ahead of competitors. The Rebels consistently performed well, placing in the top 2 in all four fall tournaments and showcasing strong team depth. They will start their spring season at the Sharkey Invitational on February 1.

Officials break ground on Amtrak passenger rail along Gulf Coast

SUMMARY: Amtrak has resumed passenger rail services along the Coast after nearly 20 years, with a groundbreaking ceremony held in Mobile, Alabama. This marks the first operation since Hurricane in 2005. Despite initial opposition, the Mobile Council unanimously approved for the service for the next three years. The new route will connect Mobile and New Orleans with in four Mississippi . SUMMARY: Oxford 18-year-old Christopher Suggs, Jr. a shooting and robbery at a hotel on Sunday. responded to reports of gunfire, only to later find a shooting victim at Baptist Memorial Hospital. The investigation revealed an altercation in the hotel room where Susgs allegedly brandished a firearm and demanded money, leading to non--threatening injuries for one victim during a struggle.
