SUMMARY: The Ole Miss men’s basketball team’s NCAA Tournament chances are dwindling after a 103-88 defeat to No. 14 Alabama. Despite leading by 14 points in the first half and staying competitive, Ole Miss struggled defensively, particularly against Alabama’s three-point shooting and rebounding. The Crimson Tide, who had six players with double-digit scores, took control in the second half and capitalized on the Rebels’ mistakes. Ole Miss’s standout Flanigan scored 28 points, but their efforts weren’t enough. The Rebels now face a critical matchup against Missouri and must perform strongly in their remaining games and the SEC Tournament to keep their Tournament hopes alive.

SUMMARY: Four Pantropical Spotted Dolphins, a rare sight in the Mississippi Sound, were found beached on Petit Bois Island last Saturday. The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies (IMMS) responded to the report, considering the stranding event unusual as it involved four dolphins of the same species. Samples and photographs were collected for analysis. The dolphins were taken to IMMS labs for further evaluation, and necropsies will be performed with the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine to determine the cause of their deaths. Anyone encountering stranded aquatic creatures should contact the IMMS Stranding Hotline at 1-888-767-3657.
