Oktibbeha County’s volunteer firefighters provided new trucks
SUMMARY: Volunteer firefighters in Oaha County received new fire trucks to replace their old ones that had mechanical issues. Five stations, including the East Oaha Volunteer Fire Station, received these trucks, which cost around $1.5 million. The funding came from Oaha County’s general funds, USDA grants, and the Rural Fire Truck Acquisition Program. Firefighters highlight the importance of the new equipment in saving lives, such as having a 2,000-gallon tanker at a station that previously lacked one. Chief Ball hopes to continue enhancing fire protection and safety services in the future.
