Okolona community reacts to police officers quitting over low pay
SUMMARY: Local law enforcement in Okalona is struggling to fill officer positions, with only five officers currently on the job, including the police chief and assistant chief. The population of Okalona is around 2,441, resulting in one officer for every 482 residents. Officers are reportedly overworked, fatigued, and underpaid, with some even quitting due to low pay.
