SUMMARY: A judge canceled the hearing for Kevin Underwood, who is scheduled for execution on December 19, due to a lack of five board members after two resigned. Underwood was convicted of murdering ten-year-old Jamie Rose Boland in 2006. His lawyer petitioned for a stay, emphasizing that Underwood deserves a full board hearing, which a judge granted. The Attorney General’s office expressed frustration over the delay but is working to ensure the hearing occurs this week. Governor Kevin Stitt is tasked with appointing additional board members, and one has already been replaced.

SUMMARY: Workers are addressing a water main break on Bedford Drive in Oklahoma City, which has left some residents without service. The break occurred after firefighters responded to a house fire at the end of the cul-de-sac, where they successfully rescued a pet and contained the blaze, with no injuries reported. Investigators are now determining the fire’s cause and assessing damage costs. While crews have been working for hours, the city’s water department is also involved, as water is accumulating in the area. Efforts are ongoing, with hopes to resolve the issues soon.

The National Guard Association also opposes the move, citing legal and financial concerns. Despite being removed from the House version of the National Defense Authorization Act, the proposal remains in the Senate. Over 100 members of Congress support the governors’ stance against it.
