Officials: 3 people dead after medical helicopter crashes in northern Kentucky
SUMMARY: Three members of the Air Evac Life Team based in Grant County, Kentucky, have tragically died in an accident while en route to a patient pickup. The incident occurred just after 5:30 PM, approximately two miles north of Owen County High School. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by Kentucky State Police, the FAA, and the National Transportation Safety Board. The identities of the deceased have not been released as their families are being respected during this difficult time. Air Evac expressed deep condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.

According to the 2024 election calendar, voters who can’t make it to the polls can request an absentee ballot until Oct. 22.

Lexington gun violence task force to present revised recommendations on Tuesday
SUMMARY: Lexington’s gun violence task force will present revised recommendations today aimed at curbing gun violence in the city during a council meeting at 1 p.m. The eight proposed recommendations include declaring gun violence a public health crisis, expanding preventive measures for all ages, and collaborating with community partners for increased awareness. To implement these strategies, the task force will request $75,000 in fiscal year 2026 to establish a new gun violence coordinator position.
