Off-duty SAPD officer shoots, kills K-9 while trying to break up dog fight, police say
SUMMARY: An investigation is ongoing after an off-duty San Antonio police officer accidentally shot and killed his own K9 partner. The incident occurred when the officer reported that his neighbor’s dogs had broken through a fence and attacked his K9. In an attempt to separate the dogs, he shot at them, inadvertently hitting three dogs, including his partner. Despite immediate veterinary attention, the K9 died. Animal Control cited the neighbor for multiple violations. The SAPD’s shooting team and Internal Affairs are investigating, and the officer has been placed on administrative duty during the inquiry.

Saturday 10pm Tropical Update: Development in Western Caribbean to drift to Gulf of Mexico
SUMMARY: The tropics are being monitored as tropical moisture is expected to return to the Gulf of Mexico. Currently, systems Joyce and Isaac, along with invest 90, are located in the Atlantic and pose no threat. However, the National Hurricane Center has identified a 50% chance of tropical development in the Western Caribbean, possibly drifting into the southern Gulf by late next week. Although global models show little activity through the weekend, monitoring will intensify Wednesday. Development may depend on upper steering currents and a potential cold front. The next storm names are Kirk and Leslie, with updates to follow.
Meteorologist Alexa Triscler says a tropical development has a 50 percent chance of developing. It will drift into the southern Gulf of Mexico late next week.
