NWR softball gets a walk off win in state finals

SUMMARY: The undefeated Northwest Rankin softball team won their state championship series against the Hernando Tigers in a wild game at Southern Miss. Trailing 4-0, the Cougars scored all 5 runs in the 7th inning to win 5-4, with a walk-off double from Hannah Sullivan. Pisgah lost to East Union in the 2A state finals, while Jackson Prep lost to Presbyterian Christian School in the MAIS baseball finals. Tri County Academy won game one of the 4A finals against Kirk Academy and Mississippi College’s season ended in the Division Two Super Regionals. The championship games will continue tomorrow night.

The undefeated Northwest Rankin Cougars stay undefeated after a wild game one of the 7a state finals. The Cougars came back from a 4-0 deficit to defeat Hernando 5-4 on a walk off double from Hannah Sullivan. Also Jackson Prep falls in game two against PCS of the 6A MAIS finals, Tri County Academy wins game one of the 4A finals and Pisgah’s softball season ends in the 2A state finals.
