No Mississippi teams ranked in D1Baseball preseason poll for first time ever
SUMMARY: For the first time, Mississippi’s college baseball teams aren’t in D1Baseball’s preseason top 25. Ole Miss aims to rebound from a 25-29 record and SEC struggles by leveraging transfers and returning players despite injuries. Mississippi State, barely above .500, seeks improvement with key veterans and new pitchers to contend again. Southern Miss, just shy of the College World Series, faces leadership changes as new coach Christian Ostrander inherits a strong team but must replace major contributors. All teams are hopeful as the season approaches, with key series starting on February 16.
