No active shooter at Air National Guard in Louisville, 1 flight diverted due to confusion
SUMMARY: This morning, there was a brief crisis at the Kentucky Air National Guard Base due to reports of an active shooter, which turned out to be part of an exercise. A report was mistakenly assessed as a real threat, prompting a swift response from security forces within two minutes. The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) was notified, and after evaluating the situation, confirmed there was no actual threat. Operations at the base returned to normal afterward. Nearby Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport implemented a short ground stop lasting about ten minutes, leading to one flight diversion.
