Nine kids removed from home in Thaxton
SUMMARY: Nine children were removed from a home in Patak County after their parents tested positive for methamphetamine. The removal, facilitated by Child Protective Services (CPS) with assistance from the Special Victim’s Unit and school resource officers, occurred following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about potential drug activity. The investigation began two weeks prior, prompted by calls from concerned citizens. Sheriff Leo Mask noted that while the situation is unfortunate, such issues occur everywhere. The parents’ identities remain undisclosed as they have not yet been charged, and the investigation is ongoing.

The incident occurred on Sunday on Booker Street, where Marquiez Scott was found with multiple gunshot wounds.
