The new marker, unveiled at McCan’s Cafe and Grocery, aims to celebrate triumph over tragedy and serve as a reminder of the past and a symbol of a better future. The Mississippi Freedom Trail will continue unveiling markers, including its first one outside Mississippi in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
