EXCLUSIVE: Prichard mother relieved after day care worker accused of abusing son is arrested
SUMMARY: Charlina Glenn’s persistence led to the arrest of daycare worker Kia Baldwin after Glenn’s 8-month-old son, Jamari, was found with bruises, allegedly from abuse at The Lighthouse Academy in Pritchard. Baldwin initially claimed Jamari choked on a rock, but his injuries were consistent with abuse. Despite initial inaction from authorities, Glenn reached out to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, which reviewed surveillance footage showing Baldwin violently slamming Jamari into a crib. Baldwin was arrested on March 13, charged with child abuse, and fired from the daycare. Her court date is set for March 27.

Charlena Glenn says her 8-month-old son was abused at a Prichard day care, and it took almost a month for an arrest to be made.
