SUMMARY: After celebrating Mother’s Day, the new week began with steady rain in the area. The heavy rain started on Sunday evening and continued into Monday morning. Several severe alerts were issued, mainly south of I-20. As the rain moved out, a dry afternoon followed. More storms were expected from the south and west, potentially bringing isolated severe storms. Although the severe weather risk was downgraded to level one, there was still a low probability of damaging winds and hail. The rain is expected to taper off by Tuesday morning, with the possibility of a few showers lingering. The rest of the week is expected to be sun-filled with minimal rain. Stay weather aware and be prepared for possible severe storms.

USM football loses again
