New playground at Columbia park could be finished by mid-October
SUMMARY: Columbia’s Friendship Park is set to receive a new state-of-the-art, all-inclusive playground following the approval of its final design by city leaders. The project, funded through a public-private partnership, requires an additional $100,000 to ensure a safe play area for children of all abilities. Currently, the city has $700,000 secured, including private donations and a grant from the Patrick F Taylor Foundation. The playground could be completed by mid-October, featuring new equipment and a video surveillance system for safety.
Construction of a new playground at Friendship Park will soon kick into high gear, now that a final playground design has been approved.
