New Orleans Weather: Lots of sun, warm afternoons this week
SUMMARY: The weather remains warm and pleasant with temperatures reaching the low to mid 80s, slightly above the normal high of 79°F. Humidity levels are low, around 29%, and will gradually increase but stay comfortable. A weak upper disturbance may bring a slight chance of isolated showers early next week, although confidence in this forecast is low. High pressure continues to dominate, ensuring mostly sunny skies and tranquil conditions. Colder air is not expected to move southward soon, and while a slight cooling trend may occur by Halloween, it won’t be as chilly as last year. Overall, enjoyable weather persists.
Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin explains how warm temperatures get this week and when we might see another cold front.

Causeway reopens to drivers in Louisiana
SUMMARY: The southbound side of the causeway has fully reopened, while the northbound side operates with one lane. I-10 remains closed, particularly between the plaza and Slidell. Alternate routes include Highway 51 and Highway 11. The Danziger Bridge, Senator Ted Hickey Bridge, and Clayboard Avenue Bridge are open. Slow traffic continues on the Crescent City Connection, which is largely closed. Reports indicate ongoing repairs on several bridges and highways. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time due to the widespread closures and slower traffic conditions across the metro area.
The southbound lane is fully open and one lane northbound is opened with a speed limit of 45mph.

Drivers are facing challenges due to the icy conditions, with some reporting difficulty staying on the road.
