New Orleans Six Flags Site to be Redeveloped
SUMMARY: The former New Orleans Six Flags, initially established as Jazzland, became a ghost town after Hurricane Katrina flooded it in 2005, leaving it in ruins for nearly two decades. Once bustling with families, the park’s remnants turned into a haven for wildlife and an attraction for urban explorers, despite safety concerns. Recently, negotiations have begun to transform this desolate area into โB Phoenix,โ a development featuring a youth sports complex, water park, movie studio, hotels, and shops, expected to open in 2027. This revitalization aims to boost the local economy, while also honoring the site’s history and heritage.
