New Orleans Pelicans and Gray Media bringing games to Gulf Coast markets
SUMMARY: The Pelicans have announced a partnership with Grey Media to broadcast their games for free over the airwaves along the Gulf Coast. This initiative aims to reach a broader audience, with an estimated seven million viewers across three states. Team owner Gail Benson emphasized the importance of extending their reach beyond the New Orleans market, similar to the Saints’ regional success. Last year, seven Pelicans games broadcasted on WX and other stations averaged 46,000 households, significantly outperforming traditional cable viewership by three and a half times, highlighting the potential for increased fan engagement.
On Tuesday, September 17, Gray Media, in partnership with the New Orleans Pelicans, announces a transformative media rights deal.
