New Orleans man attending Scrapin’ the Coast arrested for possession of stolen gun in Biloxi
SUMMARY: During a traffic stop on Highway 90, 41-year-old Jason Von Bering of New Orleans was arrested for felony possession of a stolen firearm. The incident occurred around 1:00 PM in the parking lot of Edgewater Mall as Harrison County sheriff's deputies directed traffic. Initially stopped for careless driving and an expired license plate, a vehicle search revealed two handguns and multiple magazines, one loaded with over 50 rounds. One gun was reported stolen through the New Orleans Police Department. Von Bering is held at Harrison County Jail on a $20,000 bond. The investigation continues with assistance from local police.
Jason Michael Vanburen, 41, of New Orleans, La., is in custody and charged with one felony count of possession of a stolen firearm.
