New Horizon Tgiving Meals Giveaway
SUMMARY: The New Horizon Church International gave away 300 turkeys to over 600 people in need, with 150 of the turkeys donated by Shared Wealth and the remainder donated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The food pantry manager at the church expressed gratitude for the big turnout and the opportunity to give back to the community. The Mississippi Food Network provided canned goods and fresh foods along with the turkeys. This distribution lessened the financial burden of preparing a Thanksgiving meal for many families struggling in the current economy. The church plans to have other giveaways for the Christmas season.

Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi will host their annual Meridian Walk for Diabetes
SUMMARY: The Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi will host the Meridian Walk for Diabetes on Sunday, October 13th, at Bonita Lakes Park, with registration starting at 1 p.m. and the walk at 2 p.m. This event supports families and children diagnosed with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Activities for children will include a sneaker contest, face painting, and more. The foundation aims to prevent diabetes-related complications and improve the lives of those affected. Organizer Arena Mlan highlighted their ongoing collaboration with local schools and health fairs. Proceeds will remain in Mississippi to provide vital resources for families.
The walk will be held on Sunday, October 13th, at Bonita Lakes Park. Registration begins at 1 p.m., and the walk takes off at 2 p.m.

Tony Sansone Welcomed Home
