New Hartselle ER Nears Grand Opening | October 24, 2024 | News 19 at 4 p.m.
SUMMARY: Hartsell will soon inaugurate its own local emergency room, improving access to emergency care for residents who previously traveled to Decatur, Morgan, or Cullman Regional. The Hartsell Health Park will feature 10 treatment rooms, a secure room for mental health crises, full imaging services (CT scans, MRIs, X-rays, ultrasounds), an ambulance bay, and a helipad. Mayor Brady Garrison emphasizes the importance of local access during emergencies, as minutes can be critical. This stand-alone emergency room will meet all hospital-level care requirements and is set to open in January 2025 after completing its final approval stage.
It’s called Hartselle Health Park ER and includes ten treatment rooms, including a secure room for patients going through a mental health crisis. It will also offer full imaging: including CT scans, MRI, x-rays and ultrasounds as well as an ambulance bay and helipad.

Community mourns the loss of University of Mobile men’s basketball player

Alabama weather forecast turns freezing cold with frost possible this weekend
SUMMARY: The weather in Coleman is expected to be chilly, with temperatures dropping into the low 50s. The Christkindlmarkt celebration begins tomorrow at Depot Park, with a high of 57 degrees but blustery conditions. Wind chills will feel much colder, especially in the morning, with lows around 38 degrees. Gusts may exceed 20 mph, particularly on Thursday. Friday morning will be cold with wind chills as low as 26 in Cullman. Frost is anticipated Saturday, though temperatures will rise to 58 later in the day. Warmer weather is expected next week, reaching nearly 70 degrees by Monday.

SUMMARY: A woman and her five children are now homeless after their Baldwin County home was destroyed by a fire early this morning. The blaze occurred in the Stonebridge neighborhood, with firefighters responding to a 911 call between 1:30 and 2:00 AM. Abby Granson awoke to an orange glow from the back of the house, which was engulfed in smoke and fire upon arrival of the firefighters. The house is a total loss, and the fire, which started on the back deck, is being investigated as suspicious by the State Fire Marshal. Fortunately, all family members are safe.
