New exhibit slithering to Museum of Natural Science for World Snake Day

SUMMARY: The Mississippi of Natural Science in is celebrating World Snake Day on Friday, July 19, with a special exhibit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors can learn about and interact with various snake species under the supervision of trained personnel. According to MMNS director Charles Knight, the aims to educate attendees about Mississippi's native snakes and how to identify venomous and non-venomous types. Research scientists will be present for questions, and there will also be crafts and educational activities. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, $6 for youth, and for under three.

Hattiesburg man arrested for making bomb threat toward Smith County plywood plant

Authorities identify man who was killed after allegedly breaking into ex-girlfriend’s Petal home
