New Covid Strain
SUMMARY: In July, COVID-19 cases started rising again nationwide due to increased travel and people being indoors because of the heat. However, recent cases of RSV variant have been less severe than previous waves, thanks to immunity from previous COVID infections and vaccinations. Despite this, precautions should still be taken, especially with the return of students to school. Dr. Threlkeld suggests that masks may be appropriate in classrooms if there is a surge in cases, particularly for those with underlying conditions. To protect others, individuals should wear a mask or get vaccinated if they are sick.
