New Augusta sees increase in businesses

SUMMARY: New businesses have opened in the town of New Augusta, including Hook Barbecue, New Augusta Nutrition, and the new Southern Comfort Inn. The goal of these businesses is to cater to residents, as well as travelers and truckers. They are expected to bring financial benefit to the town, mainly through tax revenue. Mayor Steve Spicer hopes that people will continue to stop by the town as they travel along Highway 98.

The town has drawn in over 10 new businesses in the past two years.

Tupelo man arrested for store burglary
