Neshoba County man faces up to life in prison for sexually assaulting minor

SUMMARY: Scottie Amos, a 26-year-old from Neshoba County, faces imprisonment for sexually abusing a minor on the Choctaw Indian Reservation in Mississippi. In September 2017, Amos committed a sexual act on a minor aged 12-16 in the Tucker community of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. Indicted by a federal grand jury in September 2022, Amos will be on April 11, 2024. In addition to the sexual abuse charge, Amos has pleaded guilty to burglary and is waiting for sentencing. The Choctaw Department and FBI investigated the case, which is prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin J. Payne and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian K. Burns.
