Each fire engine will be equipped with one of these cameras, which aids in identifying hot spots, preventing disorientation, and improving overall safety during operations. Training was recently conducted for 21 firefighters, who successfully used the cameras to extinguish a fire from a dryer lint build-up. The cameras cost around $500 to $600 each, funded by community donations, as the volunteer departments require affordable equipment.
