Natchez-Adams school board approves reorganization of schools
SUMMARY: The Natchez-Adams School District (NASD) Board of Trustees voted to reorganize K-8 schools for the 2024-25 school year to boost education quality and overall student experience. NASD Superintendent Zandra McDonald-Green acknowledged the challenges but emphasized the long-term benefits. The reorganization aims to address teacher recruitment and retention issues. Changes include Susie B. West Elementary serving pre-kindergarten to first grade, Gilmer McLaurin Elementary for second to fourth grade, Morgantown Elementary for fifth and sixth grade, and Natchez Middle School for seventh and eighth grade.
