NASA Stennis Takes Key Step in Expanding its Range Operations Work
SUMMARY: NASA’s Stennis Space Center has formed a Reimbursable Space Act agreement with Skydweller Aero Inc. for testing their solar-powered autonomous aircraft in restricted airspace. This marks NASA Stennis’ first collaboration with a commercial entity for uncrewed systems operations. The agreement enables Skydweller to conduct test flights and facilitates access to controlled environments crucial for their operations. With authorization from the FAA, the partnership aims to broaden range operations and support testing of various unmanned systems, potentially attracting further commercial collaborations. Stennis also features a secure 7.5-mile waterway for marine and ground activities testing.

Deadly E. coli outbreak linked to McDonaldโs Quarter Pounders sickens 49 people in 10 states
SUMMARY: An E. coli outbreak linked to McDonald’s Quarter Pounder hamburgers has affected at least 49 people across 10 states, resulting in one death and 10 hospitalizations, according to the CDC. The infections occurred between September 27 and October 11, primarily in Colorado and Nebraska. Investigations are focused on identifying the specific ingredient responsible, with onions and beef under scrutiny. McDonald’s has removed the implicated ingredients from affected locations. The outbreak comes as the fast-food chain faces declining sales, prompting the introduction of a $5 meal deal, which does not include the Quarter Pounder.
