MUW puts call out for name-change suggestions
SUMMARY: The search for a new name for Mississippi University for Women is ongoing as the deadline for suggestions approaches. The naming task force is seeking input from stakeholders, including community members, and is focusing on three “W” names to bridge generations of students. The process aims to be more transparent after criticism of the previous name selection. A new survey will be released to gather input from students, faculty, staff, and alumni, with the goal of submitting a new name to lawmakers during the 2024 legislative session.
