MUW hosts annual Women’s Health Awareness Luncheon
SUMMARY: Women from the Golden Triangle participated in the Women’s Health Awareness Luncheon at MUW on October 16, co-sponsored by Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus. The event’s theme was “Nutrition Across the Ages,” featuring speaker Stephanie Markham, the Clinical Nutrition Manager. Markham addressed bone and heart health while debunking nutrition myths prevalent on social media. She encouraged attendees to make mindful eating choices and reassured them that perfection isn’t necessary. Attendee Mary Plyer noted that she gained insights on her eating habits. Baptist Memorial is also providing free mammograms for women over 40 without insurance.
