Multiple ghost murals being restored in Tupelo

SUMMARY: Ghost murals are a rare find on buildings, but a new owner in Downtown Tupelo discovered multiple ghost murals during renovations. Five faded murals were uncovered on a building near the Lee County Courthouse, hinting at pieces of history. With the help of a quality of life grant from the city of Tupelo and funding from Coca-Cola in Corinth, the murals are being restored to their former beauty. Artists Kit Stafford and Reed Codwell are working to bring these murals from the past back to life. The Main Street Association plans to focus on more murals in the future.

Ghost murals are murals that were painted decades ago. Most were used as advertisements.
