Trump imposes tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China, spurring prospect of inflation and trade war
SUMMARY: President Trump signed an order imposing significant tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada, and China, citing the need to protect Americans and curb illegal immigration and fentanyl production. This action led to swift retaliation from Canada and Mexico, with both countries implementing their own tariffs. The tariffs could worsen inflation, affecting prices on goods like groceries and gas, and harm trade relationships. While Trump aims to address national security and economic issues, his actions have sparked concerns about global economic disruption, with analysts warning of potential damage to the U.S. economy and voters’ trust in his promises to lower prices.

SUMMARY: No. 23 Ole Miss put up a strong fight but fell short in a 92-82 loss to top-ranked Auburn. Despite a solid effort, including a standout performance from Sean Pedulla with 29 points, Ole Miss struggled with poor free-throw shooting and rebounding. Auburn’s big men, Johni Broome and Dylan Cardwell, dominated with 20 points and 13 rebounds each. Auburn’s 50% three-point shooting and ability to answer Ole Miss’ rallies proved decisive.
