Paul B. Johnson State Park offering Independence Day celebration option
SUMMARY: This weekend, various events are being held across Pine Belt to celebrate the 4th of July. Paul B. Johnson State Park in Hattiesburg is hosting an Independence Day celebration on Thursday. Activities include swimming, fishing, boating, and skiing, with grills available for barbecuing. The festivities will end with a fireworks show at 9:00 p.m. Park manager Heather Peterson advises arriving early to enjoy the full range of activities. Food trucks will be present all day from 10:00 a.m., and admission is $10 per car. Note that alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
