Mother killed her baby, placed her in trash can on University of Tampa campus, police say

SUMMARY: Brianna Moore, a 19-year-old student at the of Tampa, was charged with aggravated manslaughter after her newborn was found dead in a can on campus. Moore allegedly gave birth in her dorm bathroom and failed to seek medical , to that the blood was from her menstrual cycle. An autopsy revealed the baby had suffered multiple fractures and ruled the as homicide. Police were alerted by roommates who heard a baby crying. Attorney Suzy Lopez emphasized the importance of Florida’s Safe Haven , which allows to safely surrender newborns.
