Moss Point mayor discusses extent of tornado damage
SUMMARY: Mayor Billy Knight of Moss Point provided an update on the damage caused by an EF-2 tornado that hit the area on June 19. He stated that 341 homes and businesses were damaged or destroyed, and debris pick up has started. The Red Cross is assisting with recovery efforts, and a shelter has been set up. SUMMARY: Mississippi’s municipal primary election is set for Tuesday, April 1, with races for mayor, city council, and more. Registered voters can participate in either the Democratic or Republican primary, and voters must stick to the same party for any primary runoff on April 22. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters must bring a photo ID, and those without one can cast an affidavit ballot. Absentee voting by mail must be postmarked by April 1.
