Morning weather forecast: 7/31/2024
SUMMARY: This morning, Central Kentucky is experiencing downpours and thunderstorms due to a weak disturbance within the jet stream. The storms are particularly intense in northern regions, making travel difficult along Paris Pike and other routes towards downtown Paris. Visibility is improving in Lexington after heavy rain, but more storms are expected later in the day, particularly from 4 PM onward, potentially bringing strong storms and torrential rainfall. The atmosphere is saturated with moisture, leading to heavier-than-usual precipitation. While additional storms are anticipated tomorrow, conditions may dry out by Saturday afternoon before warming up next week.
Downpours and damages. Hopefully everyone stayed safe after yesterday’s severe weather in central Kentucky. More chances for strong to severe storms are possible as the unsettled pattern continues, with no sign of slowing down.
