Morning Weather (10/15): Chilly start to the day
SUMMARY: Good morning! It’s a chilly Tuesday with wake-up temperatures 20-25 degrees cooler than yesterday. Today‘s highs will reach the upper 50s, dropping to the 30s tonight. Expect 60s again by Thursday. Scattered showers and possible thunder are noted to the north, with spotty showers likely in Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and Southeast Kentucky. Higher elevations may see a wintry mix and minor snow accumulation. Most areas will stay dry, but frost advisories are in effect. The weekend looks warmer with temperatures in the 70s. Bring in sensitive plants to avoid frost damage.

ONLY ON FOX13: Mother grieves teen son allegedly shot to death by fellow 16-year-old
SUMMARY: A high school student, Antonio Faon Jr., was shot and killed in Cordova, while spending time with friends. His mother, Courney McMullen, expressed her grief, revealing she was just 10 minutes away from picking him up when the incident occurred. Shelby County deputies arrested a 16-year-old, a close friend of Antonio, who has been charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. The tragic event has deeply affected Antonio’s family, particularly his sisters, as they struggle with their loss. This case also highlights the concerning issue of gun violence among teens in Memphis.
โI just hate I wasn’t there, and I can’t imagine how my baby felt with me not being there,โ said a heartbroken Mid-South mother. She sat down only with FOX13’s Cierra Jordan a day after her 16-year-old son was shot and killed. Authorities charged another 16-year-old boy with his murder. PM Weather (10/14): A very cool day Tuesday with more clouds and a few light showers possible
SUMMARY: The temperature dramatically dropped from 81ยฐF on Sunday to 66ยฐF on Monday, marking the first below-average day this month. A cold front brought only 0.02 inches of rain, a mere 1% of the expected October average. On Tuesday, partly sunny skies will transition to increasing clouds with scattered showers possible. Higher elevations above 3,500 feet may experience wintry weather, including measurable snowfall. By Wednesday morning, temperatures could plummet to the 30s, signaling the season’s first frost. While Wednesday will be the coldest day, warmer weather is anticipated for the weekend, ideal for outdoor activities such as a football game.

Family sues Impact Plastics over workerโs death
SUMMARY: The family of Johnny Peterson, an employee who died in recent floods, is suing Impact Plastics, the Irwin company where he worked. The lawsuit, filed by the Litsen Law Firm, claims the company’s negligence contributed to his death, as they were aware of flood risks but failed to act upon employees’ requests to leave. On September 27th, six workers were swept away by floodwaters; search teams have recovered five bodies, while one remains missing. Both the state and the TBI are investigating the incident. Impact Plastics’ CEO stated employees had time to evacuate; attorneys have not yet responded for comment.
The family of an employee at Impact Plastics who died in the massive floods is suing the business, according to the Litson Law Firm.
